The Gathering Grounds
The Gathering Grounds
The Gathering Grounds is a new, dedicated space at MagicCon that is open to all attendees! Designed to celebrate everything that makes us different and lift up those from historically marginalized and underrepresented groups, this is a place to gather, play games, make new connections, promote organizations and more!
The Gathering Grounds is making its debut at MagicCon: Las Vegas this summer, and we are thrilled to share the organizations that we have partnered with to participate in this space for the first time. Learn more about them below and be sure to stop by during the weekend:
Women of Wizards
Women of Wizards is an employee resource group at Wizards of the Coast committed to supporting the growth and success of women and gender-diverse employees. Our mission is to build an inclusive and supportive workplace by fostering mentorship, career development, and leadership opportunities. Through connection, collaboration, and open dialogue, we aim to empower our members and contribute to a more welcoming and equitable culture — both at Wizards and within the gaming industry.
Wizards Pride
Wizards Pride is dedicated to making Wizards of the Coast a LGBTQ+ inclusive workplace. As an employee resource group, we work to ensure that LGBTQ+ employees feel seen, supported, and celebrated-both within the company and in the broader community. Beyond our internal efforts, Wizards Pride actively engages in work for and in the community, including outside partnerships, annual participation in Seattle Pride and our yearly charity campaigns.
Stop by throughout the weekend to play pride events! For the event, players can treat all eligible commanders as though they had partner ability. This allows players to add an additional commander to a deck they already have or use a never-before-seen combination of two commanders to helm a totally new deck. Commanders that already have abilities like partner won’t let players have more than two commanders.
Birds of Paradise
Birds of Paradise is a group dedicated to uplifting people of marginalized genders, raising awareness about equality in gaming, and providing safe spaces both online and in person events.
